Hello everyone! What a glorious Easter weekend it has been. We find ourselves here at StolenBoy.com blessed with all that is. We’re also very busy these days working with Friends of the Library here in Ventura, California. Due of budget shortfalls, Ventura County is set to close down one of Ventura’s only two libraries, called Wright Library. This is a nightmare for anyone who has ever worked with or around the written word.
Kids and adults alike will suffer from not having access to all the wonders a library has to offer. And we’re not the only county in America suffering thru such financial crisis. It appears that libraries all over face the same dim prospects of losing the written word. Thus, we’ve been inspired to become creative in efforts to raise enough money to keep the library functioning until some sort of governmental bailout can kick in to save it. According to Ventura County Library Director, Jackie
Griffen, we need to raise at least $280,000 to keep the library open.
Thus far, we have raised nearly $80,000, and the library is scheduled to remain open through the end of August. If you have any interest in helping to keep our library doors open, I encourage you to please donate your time or money. Checks can be sent to the San Buenaventura Friends of the Library at P.O.
